The Paraw Regatta Festival in Iloilo City is evolving. This used to be a one-day event where everyone goes to Tatoy’s Manokan in Arevalo to watch colorfully painted sails. Now it’s a 4-day event consisting of:
Paraw Regatta(Native sailboats with colorful sails race around the Iloilo Straight) Samba de Regatta(Group dancing contest patterned after the Carnival at Rio De Janero) Ms. Paraw Regatta Pageant Beach Volleyball Tournament Pinta Tawo (Body Painting Contest) Luces in the Sky (Fireworks display at Villa Beach) Pinta Layag (Sail painting contest)
